Requirements:
A Bachelors or Masters degree, majoring in a field of Psychology, taking no less than 8 courses in different areas of psychology.
The 8 areas must include:
1) Research Methods in Psychology
2) At least 4 out of the 6 following fundamental areas:
- a) Biological / Physiological Psychology
- b) Developmental / Child Psychology
- c) Cognitive Psychology / Perception / Learning / Memory
- d) Personality / Individual Differences
- e) Social Psychology
- f) History of Psychology / Contemporary Issues in Psychology / Research project or thesis
Applicants must obtain a minimum of lower 2nd class honours, or a GPA equivalent to 3.0 out of 4.0.
The programme must be campus-based, where the teaching and learning activities are primarily conducted on campus, with the active presence and participation of both instructors and students from the same tertiary educational institution. As such, HKPS generally does not accept distance learning, self-taught, self-study, or online psychology programmes, or any programmes of a similar nature, for HKPS membership application.
A Bachelor's degree in psychology from Australia has to be an APAC-accredited 4-year programme (i.e. including the Honours year)
